This driver installer/uninstaller supports MCC's iPort/LAN I2C Bus adapter.

NOTE: MCC recommends that you leave older versions of driver files on your system. Other devices on your system may reference older versions of drivers and may stop functioning correctly if the driver files are removed. 

  1. BEFORE YOU BEGIN: If you have questions about installing a network device, see your network administration for instructions. Additional information is available in the Network Configuration Guide.
  2. If a DHCP dynamic IP address server is not available on your network, or Static IP addressing is required, run the iPort/LAN Device Discovery Utility before installing the VCP driver.
  3. Administrative Privilege Required.
  4. Download and save-as the ZIP file below into a folder.
  5. Right-Click the downloaded ZIP file and Extract All (Uncompress).
  6. Plug the MCC iPort/LAN adapter into a network hub with a standard cable, or directly into your PC Eithernet port using a cross-over cable..
  7. Open the extracted folder and double-click Setup.exe.
  8. Click Next, or select Add or Remove and click Next, to continue.
  9. Select the iPort/LAN device to Add or Remove and click Next, or click Refresh.
  10. If the iPort/LAN is not detected, you may need to set the IP address with the iPort/LAN Device Discovery Utility.
  11. If required during Add device, change the ComPort number and/or Device Model Name (Example: iPort/LAN 2 SN 00101 R&D Lab).
  12. Click Finish.
  13. Windows will automatically load the driver and assign the COM port number (COMn) to the MCC Eithernet to I2C Bus Adapter.
  14. Use the iPort Message Center or Windows Device Manager Ports (COM & LPT) to find the assigned COMn number.
